Haring, Keith. (1958-1990)
“No On 64" Signed T-Shirt, 1986
Signed at the Pop Shop in 1986

Unusual signed shirt by the American graffiti artist and social activist known for his instantly recognizable visual language of dancing figures and his work to bridge the gap between high and low art.  Signed "K. Haring 86" on this  "No On 64" period Pop Shop t-shirt, the signature obtained at the Pop Shop in 1986. Haring designed this image in protest against California's Proposition 64 in which proponents argued that HIV would just be reinstated on the list of communicable disease under public health laws. Opponents argued that it would force HIV positive people out of their jobs and into quarantine. Toning to shirt from age, ink from marker has faded areas, otherwise appears to be in good condition.
