B Dry Goods deals in art but also in rare books, manuscripts, and memorabilia, mostly with a focus on the performing and visual arts. This past spring, I invited Wayne Koestenbaum - poet, critic, fiction-writer, artist, filmmaker, performer, friend and fellow opera and film enthusiast -  to spend a day in the back rooms of the gallery going through some of our inventory holdings. Together, we looked at thousands of photographs, letters, boxes of ephemera and memorabilia, and Wayne shot several hundred photographs of items which spoke to him in some way or another. 

We are now very pleased to present a new body of work by Wayne Koestenbaum which uses as springboard a selection of these source images, now transfigured by the artist’s unique sensibility and colorful visual language.You Oughta Be In Picturesalso displays the original items - posters, photographs, programs, ephemera - and places them in the gallery into conversation with the artworks they helped inspire. 

An exhibition of small-sized artworks and objets in various media and formats, testifying to the maxim that "good things come in small packages!" Artworks by David Hockney, Sonia Delaunay, Roberto Matta, E.E. Cummings, Marcel Duchamp, Robert Motherwell, George Grosz, Sergei Eisenstein, Jacques Villon, Saul Steinberg and many others are displayed with decorative and historical antiques. 

Fashion Forward presented a wide-ranging and exuberant celebration of the fashion arts, featuring original paintings and drawings by designers Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Balmain, Hubert de Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Christian Lacroix, Antonio Lopez, Christian Dior and others, as well as original textiles, garments, ephemera and contemporary artworks which straddle or investigate the art and fashion worlds.
