Original 1951 show bill from the Town Casino nightclub of Buffalo, New York, advertising a run of shows with "The Toast of Three Continents, Josephine Baker, the Provocative, Exotic Rage of Paris." Baker is advertised as performing "her own exclusive interpretations with her fabulous $150,000 wardrobe of Paris gowns, designed especially for her by Christian Dior, Jacques Fath, Balenciaga, Griffe and Marcel Rochas." On the internal page, further shows with comedians Joe Smith and Charlie Dale, singers Juanita Hall and Rosemary Clooney, and others are advertised. Some light stains to the side advertising Baker; overall very good. 8.5 x 6.25 inches (22 x 15.7 cm) folded.

Baker was most noted as a singer, while in her early career she was a celebrated dancer. She was given the nicknames the "Black Venus" or the "Black Pearl", as well as the "Créole Goddess" in anglophone nations, while in France she has always been known in the old theatrical tradition as "La Baker." Known in her early years for her scandalous banana skirt outfit, she went on to become a 20th-century style icon in Parisian couture.

Buffalo's Town Casino, billed as "the largest nightclub between Chicago and New York City," had its heyday from the 1940's to the 1960's and hosted acts including Sammy Davis Jr., Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.
