Retrospective published to coincide with the exhibition marking Hubert de Givenchy's 40 years in fashion. Signed and inscribed on the title page to fashion journalist June Weir: "For my dearest friend June Weir  with my respect and my love - Always." He signs and dates New York, November 4, 1991. Additionally signed and inscribed on the preceding free page by Susan Train, Paris Bureau Chief of Vogue and one of the book's authors. 204 pp. 4to. Hardcover. Shelfwear to the dust jacket but overall fine. 

Together with several items kept by June Weir inside the book: a copy of a letter from Weir to Givenchy, thanking him for signing her copy of the book and mentioning: "Everyone was thrilled to see you and Audrey Hepburn at the New York Fashion Group's 'Night of Stars' award dinner..."; a press clipping about Givenchy's book The Givenchy Style, and another clipping about Givenchy's last collection in 1995.

From the collection of June Weir-Baron (1928 - 2015), fashion historian and journalist, the first woman Vice President at Fairchild Publications, a major force in her capacity as Fashion Editor and Assistant publisher of Women's Wear Daily and W, as an influential editor at Vogue, Executive Fashion Editor at Harper's Bazaar, deputy Style Editor for The New York Times Sunday Magazine and Contributing Editor at Mirabella.
