Service à café with Faux Bois coloration, designed ca. 1950, comprising a coffee pot, milk pot, covered sugar dish, and ten cups with saucers. Signed to base and stamped Vallauris. 7 x 9 inches (18 x 23 cm.).



This father and son team of post-WWII regional artists created their hand-painted pottery in the famed town of Vallauris, the same area where Braque’s and Pablo Picasso produced their own painted ceramics. Drawing inspiration from nature, their wood grain painted glazes are highly collected.
