DeepPond Kim is a multidisciplinary artist living in Brooklyn, New York. She works in a diverse range of media from sculpture and painting to performance art. Recently selected as one of the top 8 finalists in the world for the MTV RE: DEFINE Award, DeepPond’s work has an eerie disturbing quality which blurs the lines between fiction and reality, between humor and horror. Originally from South Korea, DeepPond graduated from Incheon Art High School and obtained a BFA at Sungshin Women’s University in 2014 where she studied a broad range of creative mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, and performance. She has exhibited several group shows in NYC and Korea, presented performances at: Brooklyn International Performance Art Festival, New York, Gwangju International Performance Art Festival, Korea, OPEN SPACE “Survival” Festival Berlin, Gallery Stiftelsen 3,14 Bergen, Norway, L´MONO Bilbao, Spain, Platform Vaasa, Finland, Livery Gallery, Marseilles, France.
