Pencil and black ink on card stock

Two original fashion design, ca. 1960's, from the German fashion designer, artist, and photographer known as the creative director of Chanel and for his own eponymous fashion label. The two designs, one for a striped top and skirt with a scarf, the other for a belted coat, are executed in pencil and black ink on card stock, with notes added in French. Some light ink smudges and edge wear; overall fine. Each 8.5 x 19.5 inches (21.6 x 50 cm).  From the Estate of Tiziani.

In 1963, American designer Evans Richards opened a fashion house in Rome under the name Tiziani, employing Karl Lagerfeld as his fellow couturier in the firm. Their first collection was a huge success, and within a short time, faithful clients included Elizabeth Taylor, Doris Duke, Gina Lollobrigida, Principessa Borghese and many others. Mr. Lagerfeld remained with the firm until 1969.
