Italian Cotton and Wool Trench Coat, Battaglia, Milano, ca. 1986
Wool with leather triangular panels
Italian Cotton and Wool Trench Coat, Battaglia, Milano, owned and worn by Paul Newman. Four labels and partially lined in wool with leather triangular panels. Handmade. Length approximately 39 1/2 in. Gently worn with expected wear. Lacking one belt loop with minor staining throughout. Top button hole needs some attention.
Widely regarded as one of the most fashionable men in history, Paul Newman wore the present trench coat in a celebrated photo shoot by Michael O'Neill for GQ Magazine, showing Newman standing by the ocean in various poses. He was 61 then, impossibly glamorous, just on the cusp of winning an Oscar for reprising his role as Fast Eddie Felson for The Color of Money.
