An intriguing work by the Swiss artist, depicting a man in a theatrically twisted pose, hiding his face with a hand, perhaps in reaction to a bullet or some other projectile, seemingly prefiguring the men in Robert Longo’s influential series, the 60 hyperrealistic drawings of “Men in the Cities” (1977–83) portraying men and women wearing traditional business clothes in similarly exaggerated, contorted poses.
