Mister Rogers' Tie, with Autograph Musical Quotation from "Won't You Be My Neighbor"

Blue and green floral necktie, owned and worn by the beloved children's television personality, framed together with an autograph musical quotation from his song "Won't You Be My Neighbor." The tie was donated for an AIDS benefit event in 2001; Rogers has inscribed: "For a special friend of St. Louis Effort for AIDS / kharis [Greek for the grace of God] / Mister Rogers / 2001." Matted in purple and framed to an overall size of 10 x 26 inches. Together with a typed letter signed from a member of Rogers' staff to the organizers of the benefit. In very fine condition.

Jay Calderin, Founder and Executive Director of Boston Fashion Week, has recently written that "the show and the man became formative influences throughout my childhood and remain important touchstones in my personal life and in my career. Who knows? It could be that years of watching him making a wardobe change at the start of every episode planted the seeds of what would become my career in fashion."
